Ney’s Quinceanera Celebration!

A few weeks ago I had the privilege of documenting my good friend Ney’s Quinceanera!  For those who are unfamiliar, it’s her 15th birthday party & celebration in the Catholic church.  Ney is my friend from Op Camp & was in the cabin I mentored this past summer, when we got back from camp & she saw my work on facebook she asked if I would be at her big day.  This was a one time only thing for me but I learned a lot and had a lot of fun!  So thankful for Yuri (the videographer, check out his work here) who told me what was going on all day!  The service was mostly in Spanish, but with help from Yuri and the priest – I did what I came to do:) It was a really special day to be with Ney – she looked beautiful and was shown so much love that day from her family and friends.  Lets get this party started….

waiting for the church service to start….Ney and her court

the beautiful ceremony, blessing of the gifts

the Paz family!  beautiful!

Outside the church – everyone is congratulating!

I couldn’t resist.  Ney getting her beautiful big dress into her get a way car:)

The cake, the dress, the decorations – it was all beautiful!

Ney’s cousin made this just for her!

there was a pinata!!

I wish I knew what this was called – but it was hilarious!  The mariachi band serenaded people – starting with Ney, moving on to cousins, aunts, her dad!

After the lunch & pinata, Ney and her court and the girls rode off in this white Limo for a few  hours before the nighttime activities started – all thanks her big bro, Paul!

Later that night, Ney was presented with her mom & dad, danced with her court, was presented with gifts, and then had  a special dance with her dad & her two brothers.

It was a fun party with such a BIG fun family!!!!
